About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am Jamie, and I run Calmer Counselling. I have over 25 years of experience in counselling, coaching, mentoring, and supporting emotional well-being in a diverse number of environments and organisations. I am passionate about helping people find peace and clarity in their lives. If you are facing challenges, feeling stuck, or simply want to understand yourself better, I am here to listen and support you. At Calmer Counselling, I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings.

As an integrative therapist, I can draw on several common therapeutic techniques informed by my life experience, meaning that my approach is tailored to your needs. I am not limited to any area of specialism but have extensive experience in support of many common issues.

Practice description

As an integrative therapist, I can draw on several common therapeutic techniques, including, Person-Centred, CBT, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, all informed by my life experience, and an ongoing interest in neurobiology and Psychological Education.  This means that my approach is tailored to your needs. Whether you seek short-term solutions or ongoing support, we can work together to achieve your goals.

I offer both online and face-to-face sessions in my comfortable and modern consulting room in the heart of the Hampshire Countryside

My first session

I understand that starting therapy is an important decision, and finding the right therapist and style of therapy can be a challenge. I want to make sure that you are happy with what I can offer before you make up your mind.

To help you, I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation, either in person or online, to all prospective clients. This gives you the chance to discuss your needs and goals and ask any questions you may have. It's a risk-free way to experience a supportive environment and explore how counselling can empower you to achieve lasting positive change.

During this session, we will:

Meet in person or online.

Discuss your specific needs and initial goals for therapy.

Discuss confidentiality and highlight your rights as a client.

Discuss the essential boundaries that are key to successful therapy.

If either of us feels that your specific needs cannot be fully addressed through therapy with me, we can explore other options that may better meet your requirements.

Following the session, it is entirely up to you whether you opt to undertake your therapy journey with me.
