About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for counselling can be difficult, especially when you are feeling low or overwhelmed.
To help you decide whether I am the right person for you, let me tell you a bit about myself.
I have extensive experience with over 500 hours of clinical practice helping clients with issues including relationship difficulties, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, domestic and sexual abuse, anger and violence problems, bereavement, affairs and betrayals, chronic pain, addiction, stress, work-related issues and suicidal thoughts.
I use a trauma-informed approach to work with clients who have experienced trauma and understand the long-lasting impact such experiences can have. Offering a client a safe space to explore their feelings relating to traumatic events is the first step to empowering clients to move on with their lives.
I am guided by the BACP ethical framework to create a confidential and ethical space for clients to feel confident in bringing their authentic selves to therapy.
A strong therapeutic relationship with clients is of utmost importance, and I meet all clients with unconditional positive regard, compassion and empathy.
I trained as an integrated counsellor drawing from multiple theories including Attachment Theory, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused, CBT, Psychodynamic and Person-Centred Therapy allowing me to tailor my approach based on individual client needs.
I work with couples as well as individuals helping them understand themselves, each other and the dynamics in their relationship.
Practice description
To allow clients the flexibility they need, I offer a blended approach of face-to-face and online counselling.
My first session
To allow you to feel comfortable, I offer a 20 minute complimentary online introduction session. During this session, we will talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to achieve. There will be no pressure to continue with sessions.
