About me and my therapy practice

I am a trauma-informed, psychotherapeutic counsellor and support clients with a wide range of problems including depression, anxiety, lack of confidence, work issues & stress, difficulties related to neurodivergence (e.g. ADHD or autism), family and relationships challenges. I meet each individual with genuine care and tailor my approach as appropriate.

You may be here for a variety of reasons: perhaps you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, lonely, experience challenges in your relationships or struggle with recurring, anxious thoughts. My aim is to welcome you with genuine care and understanding, so you can catch your breath and begin to see your reality more clearly. I can help you to understand yourself and your needs better, and support you in navigating your current situation so you can experience more satisfaction, meaning, joy and a sense of autonomy in different areas of your life.

The therapeutic process often involves detangling oneself from unhelpful patterns and past experiences. I help my clients to get to the roots of their problems and to process any past traumatic experiences in a safe and nurturing space. This usually results in feeling more empowered and inspired to engage with life in a new way whilst the symptoms of depression, anxiety or difficult relational patterns loosen their grip.

My way of working is humanistic integrative and relational, which means that I put emphasis on the quality of the therapeutic relationship, and draw on different therapeutic modalities, including CBT, existential, person-centered, attachment and Jungian theories. I work collaboratively with my clients, meaning I don't force my agenda or insights. Instead, I help individuals to look at things from different angles, reflect deeply and connect the dots in a way that resonate and feel true to them.

I'm also a certified conscious dance facilitator and I understand how embodiment practices can be utilised in service of deeper healing.

Practice description

I'm interested in women's issues, man's issues and gender roles, neurodiversity, self-esteem, body-image, chronic illness and psychosomatic health problems, work related issues and stress, burn out, relationships and intimacy. I often help my clients to restore a sense of self-worth, to find more meaning and direction in life and fulfilment in their relationships. I can also support with integration of psychedelic experiences or other expanded states, please see my website for more details.

Each therapeutic journey is unique and I continue to be in awe of the diversity of human experience. It's important to me that the people I work with feel understood, and in my practice I welcome individuals from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ community and ethical non-monogamy. I am sensitive to the issues of belonging and otherness, and the ways in which socio-economic structures and cultural context shape our lives. In my approach I aim to be inclusive, respectful and compassionately curious.

I have experience working as a therapist within the NHS as well as private and charity organisations, supporting individuals struggling with depression and anxiety, suicidal thoughts, relationships and family issues, stress related to work, life transitions, loss, chronic illness, disordered eating, OCD, addiction and complex trauma.

I also have an interest in and experience of working with neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism.

My previous professional experience includes working as a Learning & Development Manager in business where I supported groups and individuals with their personal and professional growth.

I trained at Metanoia Institute and CPPD Counselling School in London. I am a registered member of the BACP and abide by their Ethical Framework.

I am passionate about my own personal and professional development, and continue to engage in additional training that enables me to enhance my practice.
