About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Mirriam, an integrative relational psychotherapist working with 16+ adults navigating relationship challenges and attachment issues, recovering from trauma or childhood wounds, experiencing life transitions, seeking clarity on their direction, or exploring their authentic self and personal growth. I believe each of us carries the potential for growth, healing, and reconnection to our true selves. Therapy is an invitation to pause, reflect, and move through the thresholds of change that can lead to profound transformation. I’m here to help you find your way forward with insight, compassion, and grounding.

I have lived and worked in different countries, gaining diverse life experiences and worldviews. I understand the complexities of living in an ever-changing world and appreciate the human drive to evolve, change and grow. I believe therapy is a place where clients can explore the different parts of themselves and expand their tools to live in these times.

I believe therapy is a space for deep reflection, personal growth, and transformation. Together, we’ll explore the stories you’ve carried and the parts of yourself that are ready to be rediscovered or released. I create a space for you to honour your past and present while stepping into your future with clarity and purpose.

I work from a relational, depth-oriented perspective, integrating psychodynamic contemporary object relations theories, humanistic therapies and integrative and holistic approaches. We examine the dynamics of your relationships, both with yourself and others, past and present, to understand how these affect your sense of self and your patterns of relating.

Practice description

I work from a relational and depth-oriented therapeutic framework, meaning that our relationship will be a key element in the work we do together. By focusing on the emotional dynamics that arise between us, we can explore how patterns of relating and unresolved issues from the past may be affecting your present life. This can offer you a powerful opportunity to rework old wounds, heal attachment injuries, and build healthier patterns of connection.

I understand that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and I work collaboratively with you to ensure that our work is tailored to your individual needs. In addition to traditional talking therapies, I integrate mindfulness-based practices to help you develop a deeper awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and body. Together, we’ll create a safe space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered as you navigate your journey of healing and self-empowerment.

Areas of particular interest:

- Trauma: Supporting individuals in healing from emotional and psychological trauma, helping you understand how it impacts your present life and relationships.

- Attachment and Relationships: Exploring how early attachment experiences shape the way you connect with others, and helping you develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

- Life Transitions: Offering guidance through major life changes such as career shifts, relocation, or personal transformation.

- Identity and Self-Discovery: Helping you reconnect with your authentic self, heal from self-doubt, and explore your values and desires.

- Grief and Loss: Providing space for processing grief, whether related to the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or a life stage.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I understand that you may be feeling a mix of emotions—curiosity, uncertainty, or even nervousness. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported from the very first session.

In our initial session, we’ll take the time to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. You don’t need to have all the answers—this is a space for reflection, and I’ll guide the conversation at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We may talk about your current challenges, your personal history, and any patterns you’ve noticed in your relationships or emotional experiences.

This session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work and to see if my approach feels like a good fit for you. I welcome any questions you may have about the therapy process, and we’ll discuss practical details like session frequency, confidentiality, and how we can best work together.

Most importantly, our first session is about creating a foundation of trust and understanding. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, seeking clarity, or simply curious about what therapy might offer, this is a space where you can begin to explore, at your own pace, what it means to move toward healing and change.
