About me and my therapy practice
Life can be complex and sometimes distressing, we don't always understand why it is we react in certain ways. As a therapist I offer a space in which you can explore and deepen your understanding of your own experiences in a compassionate and nonjudgmental space.
My name is Kier and as a therapist my practice is grounded in the principles of Gestalt therapy, which emphasize awareness, presence, and the holistic nature of human experience.
I often work with those emotions or feelings that are on the edge of our perception or ability to verbalize . I recognize that our minds and bodies are connected and that by raising our awareness of how our body is responding in a given moment we can connect with those difficult to discuss emotions.
By giving you a space in which we can explore compassionately those parts of us that are not always desirable or feel shameful, we can promote healing and acceptance allowing you to move on in life.
Practice description
I have experience working with both existential understanding and specific challenges. Though I have specific training and experience working with trauma, sexual violence from my years working at Kinergy.
From my own lived experience and professional work I am well equipped to help individuals navigate alternative lifestyles, such as communal living or ethical non monogamy.
My approach is to make sure that our sessions are useful to you, I'm happy to be flexible how we work together and I'm happy to offer creative or somatically focused approaches alongside talking therapy.
I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, which means I am interested in exploring all parts of self the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. I support client not only in reconnecting with these parts of themselves but also processing unresolved experiences within them.
