About me and my therapy practice

Are you looking for a warm, welcoming space where exploring difficult feelings could become less frightening? Would you benefit from feeling like someone really gets you and your relationships and can support you to feel less stuck?

Our relationships with ourselves and others can sometimes be the places that bring us the most joy and the most pain. I work with adults 1 to 1, couples and other relationships and will provide you a safe space where I will be alongside you as you navigate hard feelings or difficult situations, process past, painful experiences which are affecting you. I will help you to increase your self awareness so you can identify and work on patterns that continue to show up which you feel are unhelpful. I will support you through a gentle, kind therapeutic relationship to achieve your goals.

Practice description

All therapy is about building a trusting relationship with a counsellor and creating a safe space so that you as an individual or as a couple are able to explore, learn and better understand yourself to move closer to the life you want. Couples therapy helps us to see each others perspectives and acknowledge each others needs, communicate effectively, restore trust and express feelings, deepen intimacy and connection and gain a deeper insight and understanding of one another.

Alongside general therapy practice, I have a certificate in psychosexual therapy which enables me to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore and address issues related to sexuality, such as the impact of the past and any concerns around intimacy, desire or sexual functioning.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute initial phone call or zoom meeting where we can talk about what brings you to counselling, what you hope to gain from the process and if I am well placed to support you. You can have an opportunity to ask questions about counselling, how we would work together or speak about any worries you have about the sessions themselves.

Clients have said that the intial call helped put them at ease, being able to have a conversation about how we will work together to meet your needs.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor working with adults and young people. We come to counselling for many reasons, which you can explore in a safe, warm and confidential space. I will listen and understand, so that you can become clearer about what you are experiencing and gain a greater understanding about yourself and what you are going through. Building a trusting relationship with your counsellor is vital to being able to speak freely in a place without judgement. Perhaps this will be the first place you've been able to be yourself and acknowledge your feelings and I will be there to walk alongside you as you do.

Things can become clearer, can gain more confidence, build resilience and feel heard and listened to for as long as is necessary be it short term or open ended.
