My working days are Tuesdays (8am–8pm) and Wednesdays (8am–3pm).
I have limited availability on Mondays from 8am–4pm.
About me and my therapy practice
My name is Björn and I provide talking therapy. This means that I work with you, mainly through conversation, by exploring your feelings, your current strengths and issues as well as opportunities for change and development.
The process of therapy is very individual to each client. What we work on and how we do this will depend on your experiences, goals and preferences and how we can best work together therapeutically to help you reach your goals.
During therapy we may look at and evaluate your current coping strategies, identify blocks to change and development, explore your past and present, as well as look forward to how you want yourself and your life to be.
My background:
Much of my work has supported clients who struggle with self-care or cope with difficult feelings through harmful behaviours (e.g. substance abuse, self-injury, restrictive eating, bingeing, over-exercising etc).
My qualifications include a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a MSc in Clinical Psychology. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the British Psychological Society (GMBPSS: 536464).
Practice description
Our work together might include sharing knowledge about mental health, working through specific issues or focussing on patterns of thought, behaviour and action.
We may also pay attention to other aspects of your life and their impacts on you. For instance, nutrition, sleep, exercise, self-care and previous (traumatic) experiences.
This aims is to help you understand yourself and your needs better and improve your well-being.
I currently offer therapy via Zoom and telephone to clients aged 16+.

My first session
It is important that you find a therapist you feel comfortable talking to. I offer an initial 30-minute consultation free of charge, which allows us to get to know each other and help me get an understanding of what you would like to use therapy for.
Many therapists offer a free initial consultation or one at a reduced fee, and you may find it useful to get to know a couple of therapists prior to choosing one.
