About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my profile! Whether you have a specific goal or willing to explore an area of your life, I am here to help you.
I am an experienced and dedicated therapist aiming to support you towards improving your Mental Health.
I hold a degree in Clinical Psychology and I am trained in Person-centred counselling in the UK.
My counselling approach is person-centred, emphasising deep listening and empathy as core conditions for healing. In addition I also incorporate cognitive and psychodynamic psychological models to effectively meet the individual needs of my clients. As a long-term vipassana meditator and mindfulness practitioner, I invite a gentle somatic awareness to therapy sessions to connect and integrate the body and mind.
Testimonials
"Suzia, I would like to say thank you, I feel like I am now in a place, that I’d never thought possible. I realise I am a survivor and not a victim. I feel as though a weight that I have been carrying for more than 19 years has been lifted off of me". S.T.
"Suzia helped me to understand a lot about myself, mainly in things I didn’t know I need help with, I’m so grateful that I was given this opportunity with her. Given the fact we both speak the same language I felt more comfortable."A.B.
"Suzia, my counsellor, has helped me realise some issues I had and helped me to say them out loud. It has helped me identify and address them. She is also a wonderful person" T.P.
Practice description
I do have experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds in various settings. This includes Scotland and London.
I offered long term therapy sessions in a generic counselling service and I worked short term therapy providing support to more specific clients areas, such as survivors of sexual abuse at Rape Crisis and people affected by loss and grief at Cruse Bereavement. At Mind I offered short term therapy to NHS patients.
I’ ve been providing effective therapy sessions assisting clients experiencing symptoms, among others, of depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, bereavement, motivation and self-esteem. Within the Hospital setting, I delivered short term therapy to patients diagnosed with chronic disease. Additionally, I support clients in coping with life changes, acknowledging the healing power of resilience and strength in the face of adversity.
Therapy may be used as a way of addressing mental affliction or for self development. My therapy approach is gentle but you do have an active role in it.
I do provide a nourishing and peaceful atmosphere conducive of warmth and safety, I am committed to treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Taking the first step towards a more fulfilling and happier life requires courage, I am here to walk alongside you in this unique transformative journey.
Reach out with questions, I am happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.
