About me and my therapy practice
In these uncertain times, I am here to support you with whatever challenges you may be facing. Therapy can help you to build resilience and tolerate uncertainty, as well as process traumatic memories and help you to feel calmer. I work with a broad range of issues, these include anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and childhood trauma.
I offer in-person therapy and online, Monday to Thursday with early morning spaces available. I support clients from a wide range of backgrounds, some of my clients include professionals, creatives and LGBTQI+ community. I am a compassionate and affirming therapist dedicated to supporting you on your journey towards well-being.
I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can express yourself authentically. Rather than focusing on "what is wrong" with you, it can be helpful to look at what has happened to you and what is troubling you now. I work from the premise that mental health and wellbeing is not about fixing what is broken but about discovering the potential for wholeness and acceptance of who we are.
Each person who comes for therapy is unique. Therefore, I tailor my approach to resonate with who you are. Therapy in the humanistic tradition is about the relationship that has formed between therapist and client, and this is central to how I work. I offer therapy at depth which means that I will help you to get to the roots of the dilemmas that you are facing, which can help you to establish lasting change.
With a background in psychosynthesis counselling and depth psychotherapy, I offer a soulful and trauma-informed approach, where our work together goes beyond managing symptoms, inviting you to explore the deeper aspects of your story and understand underlying patterns that shape your experiences.
Practice description
I provide in-person weekly sessions at Brighton and Hove and online. I offer in-depth therapy to help you to navigate whatever difficulties you may be facing.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling. Psychosynthesis is a humanistic therapy with psychodynamic roots. I have undertaken an in-depth training as an Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapist under a U.K.C.P. accredited training provider, Re-Vision.
In my practice, I draw upon a wide range of skills including trauma informed therapy, internal family systems, active imagination, dream work, mindfulness and other meditation, self care, breath work, body centred approach, polyvagal theory and CBT.
Working with me can help you to increase your self-awareness and develop the ability to reflect. By learning to take a step back and observe what’s happening within, we can learn to respond rather than react. This can widen our range of choice and help us to respond differently to situations that we face and manage triggers. I can help you to regulate emotions and feelings which can lead to finding an internal sense of calm.
In addition to 1-1 therapy, I facilitate personal development workshops and therapeutic groups working with meditation, symbols, myths and archetypes.
My first session
The first session comprises of an initial assessment, where we explore your background and reasons for coming for therapy. The first session has therapeutic value in itself and will give you a sense of what I offer and how I can support you. After this assessment, we can make a mutual decision as to whether working together feels appropriate. I suggest making an initial commitment of 6-12 sessions and then review. I offer a 15-minute telephone consultation free of charge prior to booking a first session.
