Exploring Counsellors’ Experiences of Addressing Psychological Symptoms in Clients with diagnosed Celiac Disease
Hello! My name is Maciej, and I am a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Counselling degree. I am excited to announce that I am conducting a qualitative exploratory study aimed at understanding how counsellors support clients diagnosed with celiac disease, specifically focusing on their psychological well-being. This research seeks to delve into the experiences and perspectives of counsellors to identify the challenges they may face and the strategies they employ in providing effective care. The ultimate goal of my study is to contribute to the development of best practices or guidelines that will aid mental health professionals in supporting individuals with celiac disease and associated psychological symptoms e.g. depression and anxiety. Your participation and insights could play a vital role in broadening the scope of counselling for clients with celiac disease.
Have your say and help shape the future of mental health practices!
Call for Participants:
To address the study aims, I am inviting qualified counsellors, that have worked directly with clients diagnosed with celiac disease to take part in my research. If you are practicing counsellor or psychotherapist and have directly worked with clients diagnosed with celiac disease you are eligible to take part in the study.
If you agree to take part in this study, you will be asked to participate in a semi-structured interview designed to explore your experiences as a counsellor working with clients diagnosed with celiac disease. The interview is expected to last approximately 50-60 minutes. The interview will be conducted online with the use of UEL’s Microsoft Teams platform. If you are interested to participate, the interviews will be conducted in a conversational tone to allow you to comfortably share your experiences and perspectives. The discussion aims to be thorough yet relaxed, focusing on your personal professional insights.
Please be aware that all interviews will be audio recorded to ensure the accuracy of the information collected and to assist in transcription data analysis. The recordings will only be used for research purposes and handled in accordance with data protection regulations.
