"I knew you'd have curly hair!" Exploring the experience and meaning making of Black female counsellors navigating client acknowledgment of racial difference

Calling for Participants, Black Female Counsellors, Therapists, Psychologists who work with White Clients.

"I knew you'd have curly hair!" is the first thing a client said to me at our first in-person meeting. We had spoken on the telephone to arrange the meeting at the agency, and I thought it a fascinating start to our work. This experience and what followed is why I chose this as a project.

So, my BSc research project is seeking to explore and understand the experiences Black Women Therapists have when working with White clients, the meanings and implications.

Here is the link to the survey which takes no longer than 12 minutes.

This is a mixed methods research project which includes an anonymous questionnaire and focus groups.
