An exploration of when, how and why counsellors, who are Christians, pray for their clients, and what the ethical implications are

I am a final year master鈥檚 student at the University of Chester, conducting a study exploring counsellors who self-identify as having a Christian faith who pray for their clients. This study forms part of my master鈥檚 dissertation titled 鈥淎n exploration of when, how and why counsellors, who are Christians, pray for their clients, and what the ethical implications are鈥. The research aims to

1. Explore when, how and why counsellors pray for their clients.
2. Examine the ethical considerations of counsellors praying for their clients.
3. Explore how praying for clients may affect their therapeutic practice.

I am seeking qualified counsellors who identify as Christian and pray for their clients. Participation will involve a confidential interview (via MS Teams), lasting up to 90 minutes, at a time convenient to the participant.

This project has received ethical approval from University of Chester ethics committee. Participation is entirely voluntary, and all data will be anonymised to ensure confidentiality. Interested participants will receive a detailed participant information sheet outlining the study.

To participate or for additional information, please see the poster here.

Warm regards,
